Margie, as she was known, was the daughter and 7th child of John Henry Cline HERALD (1857-1927) and Hiley Jane "Jennie" MULKEY 1860-1938). She married Joseph Edward BROWN (1887-1959) in Tazewell, Virginia on 7 October 1908. Together they raised 9 children; Nancy, George, Ida, Hallie, Joseph, John, Howard, Grace, and Marie Brown. Margie kept duplicate Family Bibles after a devastating fire in the early years which destroyed all the couple's belongings. Bibles (duplicates)are in the possession of an East Coast and a West Coast grandchild.
