Born Virginia, 6th of 9 children, s/o Jos. Edw. BROWN & Lula Margaret "Margie" HERALD of Tazewell, VA. Married Beverly Jean CRAWFORD of Springield, MA. 4th August 1945. Residents of Springfield raising a family of 5 children; 4 daughters & 1 son. Served in WW II in South Pacific. Wounded in Guadalcanal Campaign. Received Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon, American Defense Medal with 1 bronze star.
