VETERAN MINING ENGINEER DIES

Carlisle, Aug. 18 - Irwin Mahon, 86 years old, died last evening at the Carlisle Hospital after an illness of six months. He was a retired mining engineer and had figured largely in mining projects in the West. He was an author of many engineering articles in technical magazines. A native of Pittsburgh, has lived in Carlisle since his retirements twenty-eight years ago. He is survived by his widow and two daughters, Mrs. W. K. Fleming, of Vancouver, B.C., and Miss Mary Mahon of Carlisle; and two grandsons, Ralph I. Fleming, of Vancouver, B.C., and William L. Fleming, a prominent attorney of Cleveland.

Funeral services will be in charge of the Carlisle Masonic Order, and burial will be in the Old Graveyard. The date for the funeral will be announced later.
