Louis W. Frerichs, 69, of Akron, died Saturday (March 21, 1981) in a Sioux City hospital of long illness.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Trinity Lutheran church at Akron. The Rev. Marvin Mueller officiated. Burial was in the Riverside cemetery. There was a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Schroeder funeral home. Selections "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and Softly and Tenderly" were sung by soloist Arlin Milbrodt, accompanied by organist Mrs. Ken Richards.
Pallbearers were Eugene Frerichs, Gerald Frerichs, Randy Frerichs, Gary Marshall, Ronnie Marshall, Dennis Rozell and David Rozell.
Mr. Frerichs was born Jan. 24, 1912, in Portland township, near Akron, to John and Mary Nannen Frerichs. He married Ella Reemts July 29, 1936, at Akron. They were lifelong area farmers, retiring to Akron in 1974.
Survivors include the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Bonnie) Schiabone of Warminster, Pa. and Mrs. John (Marcille) Curth of Phoenix, Ariz.; one son, Roger of Akron; five grandchildren; four brothers, Albert, Ben, Edwin and Herbert, all of Akron; and two sisters, Clara Satthoff, Chatsworth and Mrs. Russell Marshall, Ire ton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Donald.
