Andrew Jackson York was the second born of eleven children born to Nathaniel York and his wife Mary Anne Culberson. Andrew married Margaret Jane Cox a neighbor when he was about 27 years old and Margaret was 25 years old.

Andrew and Margaret had five children;

1. John W York
2. Nathaniel Jackson York
3. Dennis Culberson York
4. Malinda Jane York
5. Eliza Jane York

Andrew died at age 57 from complications from a wild hog bite and deep wounds from the tusks. That caused him a severe disability, much pain and he went insane to an early death. He is buried in his father's private York Family Cemetery. Margaret lived another 32 years as a widow and is buried in the Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
