Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Ava for Martin L. Paul, 69, of Ava.

Rev. Alvin B. Grawe will officiate. Burial will be in Ava Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at Wilson Funeral Home in Ava. Rosary will be at 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Paul died Wednesday night in St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro, after an illness of six weeks.

He was born Feb. 20, 1864,[probably typo since age is 69, should be 1894] in Ridgway, the son of Peter William and Margaret Elizabeth Wetzer Paul. He was married Feb. 9, 1918, in Murphysboro to Anna L. Waller.

Mr. Paul operated the Paul Feed Store in Ava. He was a member of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Ava, the Jackson County Farm Bureau and the Knights of Columbus in Murphysboro.

He leaves his wife; sons, Robert of Belleville, Lewis of Chester and Raymond of Tallahassee, Fla., daughter Mrs. Margaret Ann Blandford of Waterloo; a sister, Mrs. Clara Burrus of Murphysboro; brothers, Clem of Murphysboro, and Carl and Eugene, both of Reseda, Calif., and 12 grandchildren.
