Mrs. Henry Kraus, wife of Henry Kraus, Jr., passed away in Indiana this morning after an illness of several weeks' duration. Recently she underwent an operation and according to word received by Murphysboro relatives, that was the indirect cause of death.
Mrs. Kraus will be remembered by many Murphysboro residents as the former Miss Helen Paul. She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Paul of South 14th street, a sister of Carl, Clem, Eugene, and Miss Clara Paul. Mr. Kraus is the eldest son of Henry Kraus, Sr., of North 5th street, Murphysboro.
Mrs. Kraus received her education in the Murphysboro schools, and for a number of years was employed in the business office of the former Republican-Era daily newspaper. She was a devout member of the Catholic church and when a resident of this city attended St. Andrew's church. Mrs. Kraus was in her early thirties.
