Golden Wedding Observed Sunday At Eppers Home,Racine Journal Times, May 24, 1945
Mr. and Mrs. William Eppers observed their golden wedding Sunday at their home on RandolphSt. Members of the family and friends were present for the occasion. Mr. Eppers, who is 74,and Mrs. Eppers, 72, are in good health. Virginia Fonk and William Eppers were married May 21, 1895, in St. John's Catholic Church in the Town of Paris, Kenosha county. Following their marriage they lived for 22 years on a farm in the Town of Brighton, and moved to Burlington in 1917. With them Sunday to help celebrate their fiftieth anniversary were their daughters, Mrs. Henry Prott, Brighton; their three granddaughters, Mrs. Bernard Thiegs, Mrs. John Weber and Laydene Prott, and two great-grandchildren, Jimmy Thiegs and Dianne Weber. Also present were Mrs. Annie Eppers, Mr. and Mrs. NicFonk, Mx. and Mrs. Frank Molitor and Jake Fonk, Kenosha; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence . Molitor Brighton; Mrs. Margaret Stoffel, Portage; Mr. and Mrs. Matt Fonk, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Fonk, Joe Schlitz, Mrs. Dorothy Weber and Susan Seitz, of Paris; Miss Minnie Meyers, Mr. and Mrs.. Max Just, Mrs. Josephine Schneider, Ella Schneider and Mrs. Margaret May, Burlington. Mr. and Mrs. Eppers received many gifts. On Monday they attended a special mass, read by Rev. Joseph Hanauska at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
