Morgan Jones was the son of David & Esther (Morgan) Jones.

The family came to America from Wales in 1710 to escape religious persecution and to joined others in his mother Esther's family.

Morgan had 8 siblings:

On 17 Dec 1724 Morgan married Eleanor Evans daughter of Roger & Mary Evans in the Old Swedes Church in Wilmington. Morgan & Eleanor had 9 children.

By 1744 Morgan owned 300 acres of land in White Clay Hundred in New Castle County, Delaware. In 1748 he inherited a 300 acre plantation in New Castle County from his father.

When his father died in 1760 his will bequeaths to his son Joshua a plantation adjacent to Christian Creek in White Clay Creek Hundred.

The couple stayed in New Castle County for the rest of their lives and are buried side by side.
