Maurice Ford
Maurice Ford, 80, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, at Todd-Aikens Health Center in Franklin. He was a resident of Franklin.
He was born Jan. 18, 1923, in Morgantown. His parents were Ralph and Daisy (Zimmerman) Ford. He married Edna Ruth (Callon) Fox Ford on Oct. 27, 1945. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Dale Gene Fox of Poland, Ind., and Aaron M. Ford of Morgantown; two daughters, Patricia L. Fox of Tucson, Ariz., and Annette Hatcher of Franklin; two sisters, Freda Puckett of Bargersville and Lavon Mathena of Franklin; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Vera Ferguson.
He was employed by Kenneth N. Ryder in Trafalgar as a foreman for 30 years, retiring in 1978. He was later employed by Johnson Controls for 10 years, retiring in 1988.
He was a member of Franklin Wesleyan Church, where he served as a board member for several years. He was past president of the town board of Trafalgar for 12½ years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
The Revs. Don Neal and Lester Fox will conduct a service at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Forest Lawn Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135 in Greenwood. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
