Velma was the 8th daughter in a family of 13 children. Two brothers, born after her, did not survive infancy and an older sister had died young, so she was virtually the youngest of 10 which survived to adulthood.
She married (1) Wayne George Facer of Willard, Box Elder, Utah. They were sealed in the Logan LDS Temple 9 December 1943.
By the following spring, Wayne was stationed at Honolulu, Hawaii, in the U.S. Army Corps, a veteran of World War II. He was killed at Honolulu, in an automobile accident 24 April 1944, and was returned for burial in his parents' family lot at Willard, Utah.
Velma married (2) Morrel James Johnson of Rexburg, Madison, Idaho on 11 February 1946 at Ogden, Weber, Utah. Their sealing was at the Manti LDS Temple 19 March 1956.
