MIDVALE--Mary Y. Peterson, 86, died quietly in her home July 4, 1999, under the loving care of her sister, Maxine Centini. She was born to Joseph Henry Yates and Mary Adelia Harper, the fifth of 13 children. Married to John Hikiau Peterson [1909-2002] on June 21, 1933. She graduated from Weber College with a teaching degree.

Survived by her two children, Gerald Hikiau Peterson and Pamela M. Facer; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph Lewis Yates; and two sisters, Velma Johnson and Maxine Centini. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Funeral services Thursday, July 8, 1999, at 11 a.m. at the Copperview LDS Ward Chapel, 8825 South 150 West, Sandy. Friends may call Wednesday 7-9 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, and Thursday at the church from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Midvale City Cemetery.
