Naydne Vertrees, age 100, of Griggsville, Ill. died late Saturday evening (January 13, 2001) at Illini Hospital in Pittsfield, Ill.. She was born July 13, 1900 in Pike County, Ill. daughter of the late Charles Henry and Nellie Blye Cryder Allen. She married Edward D. Vertrees on June 30, 1919 in Pittsfield, Ill. and he preceded her in death on July 2, 1986.
Surviving are two sons, Donald Vertrees of Corydon, Indiana and John Vertrees of New Carlisle, Ohio; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews including nephew Herbert Allen, Jr. of Chambersburg, Ill.. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Herbert Vertrees and Cleon Lacy Vertrees; a sister, Mildred Brooks; and a brother, Herbert Allen, Sr..
She was a graduate of Perry High School in Perry, Ill..
Services were entrusted to Airsman-Hires Funeral Home of Griggsville, Illinois.
