Catherine Major Carson, 37, was a victim of the Halifax Explosion. She perished with her husband and three youngest children. Her two eldest children survived.

She is sometimes listed as Kathleen.

Catherine was married to John Robert Carson on 11 October 1904, Halifax.
They had five children:

John Edward (Nov. 1904-?)
Kathleen Cecelia (8 April 1908-?)
Harold (1911-6 Dec 1917)
Gordon (5 Dec 1913-6 Dec 1917)
Lillian (1916-6 Dec 1917)

The family lived at 1410 Barrington Street.

Due to the amount of damage done, the tsunami, the fires and a snowstorm just days later, many bodies were either not recovered until the spring or summer. Many bodies were never found at all.

The charred remains of John Sr, Catherine, Harold, Gordon and Lillian were later buried in separate cemeteries probably due to each set of remains being located at different times.
