Funeral services were held Sunday, November 25, 1956, for Rollin Edgar Sapp, 47, who died Friday at the Norton Memorial Infirmary in Louisville. The son of the late Mrs. Biner V. Sapp and Mr. W.A. Sapp, he suffered a heart attack n November 6.
A native Adair Countian, Mr. Sapp was employed as a time keeper for the J.A. Jones Construction Company of Charlotte, N. Carolina, for a number of years. In 1927, he married Lula McGaha and to this union eight children were born. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 839.
Besides his wife, he is survived by seven children, Mrs. Lanier (Avanell) Burchett, Columbia, Mrs. Vernon (Louise) Rogers, Campbellsville, Mrs. Charles D. (Margaret) Phillips, Ft. Knox, and Donald, Jimmie, Patricia and Douglas Sapp, all of Garlin, and his father, W.A. Sapp, Iowa City, Iowa. He was preceded in death by one son, Charles Edward Sapp in 1942.
The Reverends E.O. Dohner and Art Freet conducted the funeral services on Sunday at the Stotts & Phelps Funeral Home, Burial with the Masonic rights conducted by the Hood Lodge was in the Haven Hill Cemetery, Columbia.
Joe England, Earl Hatfield, Albert Simpson, Elmer Draper, Robert H. Hutchison, Sr., and Reeves Kerbow served as pall-bearers.
