He attended Kalamazoo public schools graduating from Kalamazoo Central High. Phil was in the Army Reserves, 415th Civil Affairs. He was employed at Plainwell Paper and retired after many years.
His hobbies included: hunting, fishing, softball and racing with the Hardy Racing Team and family from Gobles MI. He also enjoyed crossword puzzles, and having coffee with his extended family at Bucky's Cafe.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Chuck.
He is survived by his wife Naomi, one daughter Beth (Matt) Isaacs, and a son Joe (Paula) Dingman 5 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. A sister Becky (Todd) Horst; and 2 brothers Doug (Becky) and Mark Dingman. Along with a host of other family members and many friends.
