Jacob Brant Hunnell, 63, of Spraggs, died 12:45 a.m. Friday, December 29, 1972, shortly after being admitted to Greene County Memorial Hospital. His death was unexpected.

He was born September 27, 1907, in Jackson Township near Bluff, a son of the late Mathias and Rosella Thralls Hunnell. His wife, Ruth Amos Hunnell, whom he marrioed September 27, 1929, survives.

Mr. Hunnell spent his early life in the Bluff area. For the past 42 years he had lived in the community of Spraggs.

Mr. Hunnell was a farmer and stockraiser. For several years he had been employed with the Pensylvania Department of Highways and for several years and until his retirement in March, 1972, he had been employed in the maintenance department of Greene County Memorial Hospital.

He was affiliated with the Spraggs United Methodist Church.

Mr. Hunnell was interested in sports and helped promote baseball among the young people of Spraggs.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Ruth Hunnell, are six daughters: Mrs. John (Pauline) Jackman, of Beverly, Mass.; Mrs. Carl (Mary) Ganoe, of Pittsburgh; Mrs. Donald (Betty) Fritts, of Cherry Point, N. C.; Miss Linda Ann Hunnell of Pittsburgh; Miss Shirley Hunnell, at home, and Mrs. Kyle (Patricia) Rebold of Fairview, W. Va; two sons, Charles Hunnell, of Eunic, La., and Ralph Hunnell, of Alexandria, Va.; 21 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and one sister, Mrs. Florence Curfman, of Holbrook.

One brother, Andey Hunnell, is deceased.
