VIRGINIA BEACH - Walter Ray Munden, 80, passed away Sept. 19, 2011. A native of Virginia Beach, he was the son of the late James and Sallie Munden. He was preceded in death by his three brothers and four sisters. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 36 years, Bonnie Munden; son, Ronald D. Sears and (fiancée Hollie Sanderson) of Fredericksburg, Va.; daughters, Janelle Rae Fellone (Richard) of Chesapeake, Michelle Ann Parker (Stephen) of Huntsville, Ala., Lynelle Renee Munden and (fiancé Vernon Lawson) of Virginia Beach; and grandchildren, Caitlin Amber Campbell and Adriane Brooke Campbell, whom he raised as his own children. Other grandchildren include Daniel, Jacob and Zachary Fellone, Mason and Collin Parker and Chelsea Lewis. Walter served in the Coast Guard Reserves and was a lifetime member of the PTA and the Virginia Jaycees. He was a former Soap Box Derby flagman and past director. He also volunteered at the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters. He was a member and former usher at Cornerstone Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23, at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Fred Braswell officiating. Memorial contributions in Walter's name may be made to the Cardiology Department of the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters.
