Father:
Mother:
Spouse: Weston "Wes" Elroy Whatcott
Married: 25 August 1961 | 52 years
Place: Salt Lake LDS Temple
Education: Provo City schools | BYU
Life's Work/Service/Interests: Sandy graduated from Brigham Young University in 1962, majoring in Elementary Education. She later became certified as a Special Education Instructor. Wes and Sandy were married in the Salt Lake Temple in 1961. Their children include: Daniel Whatcott (Lisa); Brett Whatcott (Stephanie); Jodi Whatcott (deceased); Sharee Whatcott Langenstein (Michael); Scott Whatcott (Ramona); Briana Whatcott; Abel Whatcott; Rachelle Whatcott; Liya Whatcott; Raman Whatcott and Tari Whatcott. Throughout her life, Sandy was always active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings such as Relief Society President, Cub Scout Den Mother, Primary President, Primary Teacher and numerous other callings. One of the more enjoyable adventures in her life was probably when Sandy and her husband established an international adoption service, West Sands Adoptions, through which hundreds of orphan children from foreign countries were (and continue to be) assisted in joining new families in America, including six orphans Sandy and her husband adopted when in their late 50s. Sandy always had extreme delight when witnessing the adoptive families join up with their adoptive children. Sandy and her husband raised 11 children, one daughter was killed just before her 20th birthday while serving in the US military. On September 3, 2013, our dear wife, mother, and sister, Sandra "Sandy" Swapp Whatcott, returned to our Heavenly Father. Waiting to welcome her were her parents, one of her daughters, and all 11 of her siblings. She now waits with them and Jesus to be joined by her husband, Wes.
Survived By: Her husband, ten children, 16 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
Family Message: "Her friends and family sorely miss her, her sweet smile, the compassionate activities she performed serving others, and all other good things about her. But we anticipate the day when we will all be united again with her at Jesus' feet."
