Mr. L.C. 'Sparky' Sparkman, 65, of Exton, Pa., died June 12. Mr. Sparkman was born in Williamson County, son of the late A.P. "Percy" and Geneva Sparkman. He received a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Tennessee, was president and general manager for Gulf Interstate Energy/PPL from 1976 to 2001 and most recently a private consultant for the Mirant Co. of Waldorf, Md. He had been an engineer for Shell Oil Co. from 1961-76.
Survivors include his wife, Susie Sparkman of Exton; a daughter, Saundra Rich of Waller, Texas; a son, L.C. Sparkman II of Brandon, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Julie Nordberg of Downington, Pa.; two sisters, Nadine Yancy and Fay Sparkman, both of Franklin; and three grandchildren.
Graveside inurnment will be held today, Nov. 24, at 2 p.m. in Williamson Memorial Gardens with Jim Taylor officiating.
Williamson Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
