Mrs. Minnie Schraub Schlappi
Born In Lowville, August 4, 1863; Died In Sioux City, Iowa, December 31, 1932.
Mrs. Minnie Schraub Schlappi, wife of J. Fred Schlappi, born in Lowvllle August 4, 1863, youngest daughter of the late Henry and Salone Landenurg Schraub, died of pneumonia Saturday at her home in Sioux City, lowa.
She had been in poor health for a long time due to paralysis. Mrs. Schlappi was a graduate of Lowville Academy and for many years following her graduation was a member of the faculty at the old State street school. She was married to Robert W. Jones in 1891,* then one of the school commissioners of Lewis county, and several years after his death she was married to J. Fred Schlappi of Sioux City, lowa, formerly of Constableville, and had resided in that city for the past 20 years. During her residence in Lowville she was an active member of Trinity Episcopal church, and prominent in local affairs.
She is survived by a brother, Hon. Fred C. Schraub, of Lowville; a sister, Mrs. Anna Kelly, of New Haven, Connecticut; three nephews and several cousins, including Mrs. William L. Babcock, of this village.
The remains will arrive in Lowville today and be taken to the Virkler funeral home, where funeral services will be held at 10 a. m. Friday.
