Dora L.Lawrence,89,of Elk Point,S.D.,died Monday Oct.28,at Prairie Estates Care Center in Elk Point.Services were held Thursday at Anderson funeral home in Elk Point with Rev.Chardler Welch officiating.Burial in Richland Cemetery,Richland,S.D.Dora was born Dec.16,1901 in Plymouth County,Iowa,the daughter of Charles & Addie(Fletcher)Talbott.She married Carl Bert Lawrence in June 1918 in Millnerville,Ia.The couple moved to Wibaus,Mont.,in 1928,where they farmed.They then moved to Elk Point for several years.Mr.Lawrence died May 10,1984 in Akron,Ia.she entered the nursing home in 1989.Mrs.Lawrence was a member of Elk Point United Parish.Survivors include three sons,Lloyd of Ireton,Ia.,James and Doug both of Elk Point,S.D.;daughter Ileen & hubby Walter Richters of Akron,Ia.;two sisters,Pearl Powell of Alcester,S.D. and Gladys Sullivan of Elk Point,S.D.;a brother Clifford of Abilene,Tx.;13 grandchildren;seven great-grandchildren.She preceded in death by her beloved husband,a son Leonard;a granddaughter;four brothers;two sisters..
