Anna Elizabeth Markman, the daughter of William Fredrick Scholz and his wife Charlotte (Hawf) Scholz was born November 11,1875, in Shelby precinct, Edwards county, IL, on a farm four miles west of West Salem.
On October 24, 1894, she was united in marriage to William G. Markman. In 1935 she and her husband transferred their membership to the Moravian church of which she was a member at the time of her death.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, one son Alvin W. Markman of Evansville; one daughter, Lottie (Mrs. J. Brown); two grandchildren, William and Jack H. Gould of Anna; one brother, William Scholz of Detroit, and one sister, Mrs. Leah Schuller of Mt. Carmel. Death due to a stroke.
