Del Norte Prospector dated Jan. 11, 1963
Emil Anderson, 92, died Thursday at Monte Vista where he had made his home the past few years. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Methodist Church with Masonic rites at the cemetery.
He was born March 18, 1872 at Sjoenden, Warmland, Sweden, and came to the U.S. as a youth of sixteen. He came to this region in 1893 from Illinois, farmed at Granger and over fifty years ago moved to Del Norte. He engaged in transfer work and was a blacksmith for many years. He was an erector of farm implements.
He was a member of the Del Norte lodge of Masons since 1911, a 32nd degree Mason, charter member of the Pueblo Consistory since 1919 and a Royal Arch Mason.
His wife died in 1947. Survivors are a son, Frank, of Creede; a daughter, Edna Albright of Mills City, Oregon; and four grandchildren.

Married Anna Maria Botefur 2 April 1900 in Del Norte, Colorado. I don't know what happened to Anna Maria. Census records show Emil's wife as Mary A. - is that Anna Maria? pwc
