Calio News, Fri. Jan. 21, 1916, p. 4. Mrs. Michael Plain, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Pung died at her home south of Calio Friday evening after a short illness. Death came unexpected and cast deep sorrow and mourning over her husband, her many relatives and friends. Mrs. Plain is survived by four children: Alvin, Gilbert, Esther and Jacob, the oldest being six years, her mother Mary M. Pung of Spring Hill MN, Arnold H. Pung, Mrs. John Hettwer, Jr., Mrs. Chas. Schoenberg, Spring Hill MN, Mrs. C. A. Braun of Regal MN, Hubert Pung of Spring Hill MN, Peter Pung of Washington DC and Mike Pung of Calio. Mr. J.W. Plain, Miss Lena Plain and Mr. F. Reines from Aurora IL also attended the funeral which was held at the Trier Catholic church Tuesday at ten o'clock. Rev. Fr. Bierens officiating at the requiem high mass and the interment in the Trier cemetery. Mrs. Plain was a virtuous woman devoted to her family duties and she will be much missed by her many friends. The entire community sympathizes with the bereaved husband and children and the many relatives in their sad loss. Born at Spring Hill MN, Sept. 24, 1882. Married to Michael Plain, Jan. 12, 1909. Moved to Calio the same year. Illness since Jan. 8. Died Jan. 14. Buried Jan. 18 at the Trier cemetery. "May she rest in peace."
