NEWS ARTICLE Diamond Drill (Crystal Falls) May 3 1890 "Iron River Ripples: Doings in the West End of the County: Iron River Saloonists"
IRON RIVER, May 1-The common council held a meeting on Wednesday evening for the purpose of passing upon the bonds of liquor dealers for the coming year. Twelve dealers presented their bonds and nine were approved, while the others were referred back for additional securities, and to communicate these parties an adjourned session of the council will he held Saturday afternoon. The following old dealers will continue: A.J. Boyington, M.M. Lalley, W.J. Tully, Nick Diederich, Martin Bies, Kate Harrington and Seney Nault, while Lyng & Erickson have dissolved partnership and will go it alone; the former in the building formerly occupied by Alex. Quirt and the latter in S.J. Hanson's building. Paul Schook takes the Noonan building formerly occupied by Pat Brown. M.B. Wait will open in the building next to the Sullivan house, and John Herman Ohman takes Fred. Kjelgren's old stand, where he has been an assistant for several years.
FIRST VOTERS LIST Nov 4 1882 for Iron River Twp names Patrick Brown. It was part of Marquette County until 1885 when Iron County was formed.
