Mr. Melvin Eugene "Gene" Lane, 75, of Goodman, Missouri departed this life on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at his residence.

Gene entered this life on April 15, 1935 in Goodman, Missouri born to the union of Chester Saul and Emma (Nida) Lane. He was a lifelong area resident of Goodman, Missouri. He retired in 1995 from Hudson Foods in Noel, Missouri after twenty-eight years of employment. He enjoyed the great outdoors where his favorite activities were hunting, fishing and gardening.

Gene is survived by four sons, Michael Lane, Gerry Dean Lane and Darrell Lane all of Goodman, Missouri and Billy Robertson of Mt. Grove, Missouri; two daughters, Terri Dee Johnson and husband, Warren, of Grove, Oklahoma and Christina Lane of Goodman, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Rose Boyer of Neosho, Missouri; two brothers, Billy Adams and Don Adams both of Goodman, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
