According to the Wellston Telegram, David, along with a number of schoolmates, was coasting down the long hill in the school lot, lying on his sled, On the sled directly in front of him were Louis Miller and some other boys, and as the sled approached the bottom of the hill, the Miller boy was thrown off the front of his sled, causing the rear of the sled to tip up in the air. David was so close behindhim that the rear of the sled caught him under the chin as it was thrown in the air. David was so close behind him that the rear of the sled cught him under the chin as it was thrown in the air, and his head was forced back so sharply that his neck was broken. He was carried into the school building, where the principal, Charles Hoouse, tried artificial respiration until the arrival of a physician, but David was killed instantly.

David was in the second grade at Glenroy. His teacher was Miss Fay Pugh. He is survived by his parents, Wm. T. and Rosa Parker, who lost a child the previous September. The funeral was held at the Baptist Church in Glenroy and he was buried in teh Glenroy cemetery.
