Obituary: "Pneumonia Took A. P. Schlappi - Aurilleus P. Schlappi had been ill only a week with pneumonia, when it resulted fatally Friday night at ten o'clock. Mr. Schlappi was born in Elm Hall, Mich., on May 3rd, 1851, making him 71 years, seven months and 14 days old at the time of his passing. For many years he was a farmer near Grand Rapids, doing teaming in the oil fields as a side line. After he sold his farm near Grand Rapids and bought a small truck farm on the Haskins road, near Bowling Green. He ran the truck farm, selling his products in this city and others, for eight or nine years, then sold out and moved to town. Since living in town he has been working for the last four or five years at the Drop Forge plant and elsewhere at the Universal Machine Works, his occupation at the latter place being that of grinder. He was not connected with any lodge, but was an active member of the Pentecostal Mission, at whose service he was a regular attendant. Mr. Schlappi leaves to mourn for his passing a wife, four stepchildren: Allen Wagoner, William Wagoner and Mrs. Charles Summers, all of Bowling Green, and Mrs. Ray Singer, of Toledo. Children of his first wife Jennie Gilmore, who died some time ago, are Milford Schlappi and John Schlappi of Indiana, and Mrs. Anna Mutz, of Niles, Mich. He has one sister living, Mrs. Justina Sly, of Owasso, Mich. The funeral will be from the home at 114 North Enterprise street at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, with Mrs. W.P. Korb, of the Mission in charge. Interment will be made in the Beaver Creek cemetery near Grand Rapids, where his first wife is buried. Mr. Schlappi was known to a lot of people and they will miss him as he was possessed of a very loving nature, always seeing the bright side of life. He was a very devoted husband."
