Geraldine Eileen Schultz, the daughter of Soren and Anna (Petersen) Nelson, was born on November 8, 1920 on the family farm south of Ruskin, Nebraska. She passed away on November 9, 2011 at Thayer County Health Services, Hebron, Nebraska at the age of 91 years, and 1 day.

Geraldine was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Ruskin for almost 70 years. She attended Riber elementary school thru the 8th grade and her high school years at Hardy High School graduating with the class of 1938. After graduating she attended one year at Kearney State College. She began teaching at District 2 (Binning) school and also taught at Ruskin and Nora schools.

She was united in marriage to Eugene "Bud" Schultz on June 1, 1942 at Lincoln, Nebraska. To this union was born four children.

While raising her family, Geraldine continued with her education at the University of Nebraska at Kearney earning a Bachelor of Science degree in 1977.

She was a 4-H leader, member of the Round About Extension Club, Retired Teachers, Danish Brotherhood, and ELCA women. She was active in Senior Citizens at Ruskin and their Memorial Day Celebrations. She taught Bible school, Sunday school and the children's choir.

Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, and crocheting. But the most important part of her life was her family- cooking and organizing parties for them and their friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Eugene on August 15, 2009 and two sisters, Florence Bargen and Doris Bohling.

She is survived by her children Yvonne Campbell and husband Jerry of Fairbury, Nebraska, Dianne Witwer and husband Kerry of Shingle Springs, California, Howard Schultz and wife Janice of Nelson, Nebraska and Ramona Kay Eickman and husband Michael of Ruskin, Nebraska; 16 grandchildren: Lori Gamman, Tyler, Mitchell, Jason, Justin, Laura and Josh Witwer, Chris, Tony, Jeff, Kurt and Brian Schultz, Tracy Christiancy, Gina Olsen, Valerie Utecht, Ryan and Adam Eickman; 23 great-grandchildren; sister Loetta Pedersen; brother-in-law Keith Schultz and wife Heral Jean, brother-in-law Edwin Schultz and wife Bertha all of Superior, Nebraska, sister-in-law JoAnn Renz and husband Berdon of Deshler, Nebraska; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
