Son of William and Elizabeth Allan was born in Pottery Scotland. He was married to Clara Baker on Dec 13 1904 in Boone and to this union were born three children. The first eight years of his life were spent in Scotland. He then moved with his parents to Lehigh Iowa and later to Boone where he lived the remainder of his life. In his early years he was a coal miner and later a plumbers helper.

Mr Allan loved outdoor life, hunting, fishing and gardening. He was especially fond of his pet cocker spaniel Jiggs.

He is survived by his wife, and daughter Deillian of Boone and two sons Arthur of Boone and William of St Paul
