November 2, 2011 at age 90. Beloved husband of Ida "Stevie" (nee Stevens) Howarth; dearest father of Frederick "Bud" (Sharon) Howarth, Stephanie (Bob) Galdys, Kathryn (Gary) Sokolowski, and Susan (late Dirk Berberich) Howarth; loving grandfather of Jennifer, Michael, David, Sarah, Douglas, Megan, Devin, Zak, and Guy Tallas. He is also survived by nieces and nephews. The Family will be present on Saturday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the (Harris Hill Chapel) AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME INC. 8440 Main Street (near Harris Hill Rd.). A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday December 17th at 11:00 AM at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in North Tonawanda Friends invited. Mr. Howarth was a WWII Canadian Forces Veteran who served in the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Highlanders fighting infantry. He fought in France and Germany and received the Distinguished Conduct Medal for Bravery and was personally decorated by King George VI at Buckingham Palace. He was the former Owner and President of Menne Nursery, life member, past president, of the WNY Nursery and Landscape Association and recipient of their "Man of the Year Award"
