Clifton Arnold Houghton, Sr. was born Sept. 21, 1913, in Decatur; a son of John Cunningham Sr. and Alpha Mae Arnold Houghton. He married Mildred Laycox Feb. 17, 1934, in Peoria.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Clifton, Houghton, Jr and Thomas William Houghton; one daughter, Barbara DeJaynes; three sisters, Dorothy (Ed) Hudgens, Marge (Eddie) Heikens and Audrey (Gene) VanPelt; ten grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and three sisters.
