Mary Lorinda Logan Bauer 78, of Indianapolis, died Monday, July 19, 2004. The registered nurse was born April 25, 1926, in Lafayette to the late Paul Samuel Logan and Martha Rauch Logan. She graduated from Stockwell High School in 1944 and Methodist Hospital, with a registered nursing degree in 1947. She married Joseph Ervin Bauer on Feb. 14, 1948. She retired from nursing at Greenbrier Nursing Home. She was a member of Abundant Harvest United Methodist Church in Indianapolis and its United Methodist Women's group. She also coordinated the prayer chair at the church for years. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include: her husband of 56 years, Joseph Bauer of Indianapolis; son, James Edward (Sarah) Bauer of Stockwell; daughter, Janet Aileen (David) Devine of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; two brothers, John Paul "Jack" (Pat) Logan of Noblesville, Ind., and Wilbert Rauch "Bill" (Gloria) Logan of Hobart, Ind.; four grandchildren, Jennifer and Dennis Devine and Adam and Erin Bauer; and several nieces and nephews. Services for Mrs. Bauer will be 1 p.m. Thursday, July 22, at Abundant Harvest United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Romney Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel.
