Wilbert R. “Bill” Logan, age 86 of Hobart passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017. He was born on February 25, 1931 in Stockwell, Indiana to the late Paul and Martha Logan.

He was a longtime area resident and longtime member of the Hobart First United Methodist Church. He earned his Bachelors and Masters degrees at Purdue University.

Bill married Gloria Romine on August 21, 1960 in South Bend, Indiana.

He loved working as a Teacher and Athletic Director for Hobart Township Schools, where the River Forest Gymnasium is named for him.

Bill was a member of the Hobart American Legion Post 54, Masonic Lodge of Stockwell, the Purdue Alumnae Association, the John Purdue Club, and the Retired Teachers Association.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gloria Logan (nee Romine) of Hobart, IN; three Sons, Scott Logan of Hobart, IN; Brett (Jackie) Logan of Charlotte, NC; Matt Logan of Virginia Beach, VA; two grandchildren, Rachel and Jacob Logan.

He was preceded in death by one brother, John “Jack” (Patricia) Logan, one sister, Mary Lou (Joe) Bauer.
