Storage Worker
One of Lockport's oldest resident, George A. Chase, 93, of 266 Chestnut St.. died Friday (Feb. 14. 1964) at Lockport Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
A native of the Town of Hartland, he was born Aug. 4, 1870, the son of Albert J. and Lovisa Westcott Chase. He lived in the Gasport area for many years before making his home in Lockport in 1920.
He was employed in produce packing for 60 years, 22 of them with the former G. L. Pugh Cold Storage on Hawley Street in Lockport. He retired 18 years ago.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Earl Chaplin and Mrs.Archie Brownell, both of Gasport; Mrs. Milo Newman of Leisure City, Fla.; a ton Earle A. Chase of Lockport; a sister, Mrs. John Baes of Gasport; and a brother, Linus R. Chase of Lockport. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 30 greatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Lange Funeral Home, 186 East Ave. where members of the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held from the funeral home at 2 p.m.Monday with the Rev. William C. Pettibon, associate pastor of the Emmanuel Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Hartland Central Cemetery.
