Returned home via the Suez Canal, Mediterranean Sea, and Atlantic Ocean to Virginia, thus completely circling the world by water.
Discharged 23 Dec 1945 at Fort McPherson, Georgia, after earning Good Conduct Medal at the Middle East Theater, WWII Victory Medal, & Marksman / Rifle Expert - 30 caliber machine gun.
After returning from WWII military service, worked as Missouri Highway Patrolman (State Trooper). After retirement there, worked as car salesman in St. Louis, plus worked in security at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft.
Married Pearl Louise Zeigler on 17 Aug 1946, divorced on 5 Sep 1963. Couple had 3 children: Rodney Luke, Charlotte Elaine, & John Robert. Married Lucile Mae Metcalf McLaren on 14 Dec 1963.
