Sophie was the third child of John and Rosie Zientek. She married Anton Jozwiak on 22 Nov 1896. They had fourteen children, of these, ten children grew to adulthood. The four who died young were named: Valentine; Theodore; Maxmillian; and Arthur.

The family lived on a 123 acre farm in the Brenham vicinity. She took good care of her children, did canning from her orchards and gardens, raised larger animals as well as ducks and chickens, always kept a flower garden, and lived a good country life. She and her family were members of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
