Mrs Hannah K Smith, widow of Henry Smith, died Monday morning at 3 o’clock at the family residence, two and a half miles east of Monroe. An attack of grip was the cause of death. Deceased was 76 years old and had resided in the locality where she died for many years. She leaves eight children. The funeral was conducted from the Monroe U B Church this morning at 10 o’clock. Rev Sherrill officiated and the interment was in the Baptist cemetery at Monroe.( The Lafayette paper, April 11, 1904)
