Services for Mary Key Franklin, 93, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2011 in Sanders Memorial Chapel with Rev. Paul Miller officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon, Texas under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
She passed away November 6, 2011.
Mary Key Franklin was born in Palo Pinto County, Texas August 31, 1918 and moved to Randall County, Texas as a young child.
She married Leslie Key in 1939 and lived in Canyon, Texas for many years before moving to Lubbock, Texas in 1969. He preceded her in death in 1987.
Mary worked in retail sales at Hemphill Wells and Shetland Hallmark.
Mary married Raymond Franklin in 1990 and lived in Lubbock, Texas. He preceded her in death in 2004.
She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Sylvia and Lonnie Peek of Lubbock, Texas; three granddaughters, Loree Laster of Bruceville, Texas, Kathy Viney of North Richland Hills, Texas, and Demeka Walker of Lubbock, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Lucas Viney, Trevar Peek, and Trisha Walker; and three great-great grandchildren, Lyndon and Emma Viney, and Liberty Peek. She also has two sisters, Helen McElwee and Irene Beck; a brother, Harmen Hurst; and many extended family members.
