William Duncan Shannon, 81, died Sept. 26 at Driftwood on the Ashley in Charleston.
He was born in Camden, S.C., and was retired from Backus Cadillac-Pontiac, having served as a service manager. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Landrum Lodge No. 48, F&AM, and Order of the Eastern Star. He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in the 13th Airborne Division in the European Theatre of Operations.
SURVIVORS: his wife, Chrystal Floyd Shannon of Savannah; two daughters, Yvonne S. Folsom of Lafayette, La., and Phyllis S. Rhodes of Estill, S.C.; five grandchildren, Robert and Kevin Folsom of Lafayette, and Chrystal, Jennifer and William Rhodes, all of Estill; and several nieces and nephews.
GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 2 p.m. Monday in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
