Rose Mae (Obendorfer) Siewert, 94 of Stevensville, MI., passed away Friday, December 19, 2008, at The Willows in St. Joseph, MI.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, December 22, 2008 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2673 W. John Beers Rd., Stevensville, MI, with Rev. Jonathan Kruschel officiating. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Monday prior to the service. Burial will follow at Lincoln Township Cemetery in Stevensville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran.

Rose was born on October 16, 1914 in Au Gres, MI. Rose married Arthur Siewert on November 21, 1936, at St. Paul's Lutheran in Stevensville, MI and they were married for 70 years until Arthur's death on March 5, 2007. For most of her life Rose and her husband worked on the family farm. Rose was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid at St. Paul's and for many years would help collect money for March of Dimes. Rose and Art spent their winters in Leesburg, Florida, at the Chain of Lakes Trailer Park. During her life, Rose loved playing cards, especially, with her pinochle club. She truly loved spending time with her family and friends, but mostly with her grandchildren.

Rose is survived by her daughter Geraldine (Edward) Klug and her son Dale (Carol Ann) Siewert, who are both from Baroda, MI. She is survived by her three grandchildren, Jayne Bannan, Joanne Sweet and Joseph Klug along with 8 great grandchildren. Rose is also survived by two sisters, Doris Hauch of Stevensville, MI and Alvina White of Galien, MI.

Rose was preceded in death by her father August Obendorfer; her mother Anna (Heinrich) Obendorfer and her husband Arthur Siewert. She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Mandy Krause; Betty Klackle; Marie Winston; and Anna Dittenber along with three brothers, George, Kenneth and Duane Obendorfer.
