Doris Esther Hauch passed away on June 23, 2010, two days short of her 98th birthday at the Golden Age Manor in Stevensville.
Present at her bedside at the moment of her passing were her three children: Duane Hauch of Bangkok, Thailand, Marilyn Faulkner of Ann Arbor, and Doreen Schmidt of Stevensville- as well as Eva Carlson her close friend for more than 70 years and Joyce Gano, a wonderfully caring niece and godchild.
Doris, who was well-known for making delicious desserts, was born on June 25, 1912 in Au Gres, Michigan, one of 10 children, to August and Anna Obendorfer. For many years, Doris was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stevensville. On October 24, 1936, in Bridgman, Doris married Ernie Hauch who preceded her in death in 2003.
In addition to her 3 children, Doris is survived by a sister, Alvina White, of Galien, 4 grandchildren - Michael Rondelli, Regan Pallas, Jason Pallas, Craig Pallas as well as 2 great-grandchildren-Kannen and Makenzie Pallas.
A Celebration of Life Eternal will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 2673 W. John Beers Rd., Stevensville on Friday, June 25, at 2:30 P.M. with Jonathan Kruschel officiating. Burial will follow at Lincoln Township Cemetery. Friends may visit from 1:30 P.M. until 2:30 P.M. at the church on Friday, June 25, 2010. Memorials may be made to the Berrien County Cancer Service.
