Emma Forest was the 5th of 15 children born to Julius Franz Foerst and Caroline Lang Foerst. She married William McGee in Kentucky in 1939. She was very generous to her younger sister Marie Forest Churchill. Emma was working as a nurse and used some of her earnings to help Marie go through school at the "Normal College" (now Eastern Michigan University). Later Marie had medical problems with her son Donald; Emma was kind enough to sign a financial guarantee at the hospital so that Donald was able to get his medical care.
