Beulah Moore Banks, 83, formerly of Ireson Street, died Tuesday morning, October 25, 2011, at Piney Forest Health Care Center where she had been a resident since March.

Mrs. Banks was born January 11, 1928 in Buckingham County, VA, the daughter of Robert Scott Moore and Addie Womack Moore.

Prior to retirement, she worked for the Danville Public Schools.

Mrs. Banks was a member of the former Keen Street Baptist Church and attended Schoolfield Baptist Church.

She was married to William Almond "Bill" Banks, who died October 23, 2004.

She was the last survivor of eleven siblings and is survived by a number of nieces and nephews, which include John B. Hall, Jr. and Joseph Varner; three sisters-in-law; numerous great nieces and nephews and a dear friend, T. Merricks.

The family received friends on Thursday, October 27, 2011, from 12:30pm - 1:30pm, at the Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel and the graveside service followed at 2pm, at Highland Burial Park, with the Reverend David Turbyfill officiating.
