Rudolph "Rudy" C. Burg, 78, Topeka, formerly of Atchison, died Tuesday at the VA Hospital in Topeka.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Ann's Catholic church, Effingham, with burial in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Brennan Funeral Home, Topeka, where a parich prayer service will be held at 7 p.m.
Mr. Burg was born Sept. 19, 1908 in Manchester, Okla., the son of Joseph and Lena Reis Burg.
On Oct. 1, 1939, he married Helen Hargrove in Atchison. He worked at Byram Jackson Motors in Atchison before moving to Topeka in 1941.
In Topeka, Mr. Burg worked for Noller Motors and Masby Mack Motors where he wasn an auto service mechanic for 32 years. He retired in 1972.
He was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, Topeka. Mr. Burg served three years in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn of the home; a sister, Cecelia Burg, Effingham; and several nieces and nephews
