Mrs. Alice M. Steele, 73, of 213 Pleasant Street, died in Tompkins County Hospital.
She was a graduate of Cornell University in 1919. Before retirement, Pauline was a librarian at Olin Hall of Cornell University.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son William "Bill" Steele, of Corte Madera, California; and cousins.
A memorial service will be held in the First Baptist Church January 4, 1972. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery.
