Mrs. James Dare, aged 72 years, died suddenly about 9:30 Sunday night at her home in Cuba. She had been in the best of health and her death was entirely unexpected. Dr. J.W. Welch was out of town and Dr. R. T. Ewan of Lewistown, was called bu Mrs. Dare was dead when he arrived. He pronounced it a stroke.

While eating supper Mrs. Dare remarked to her husband that she had swallowed a plum seed, but thought nothing of it. Later theyh went to the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Nebergall where they stayed until about 8:30 when they returned home. Shortly after Mrs. Dare remarked that she was in misery and wondered if it was the plum seed. She became rapidly worse and died in a short time as before stated. Dr. Ewan said the plum seed had nothing to do with her death.

Mrs. Dare, whose maiden name was Nancy Cruiser, was born December 23, 1861, southwest of Cuba. She was twice marrried, her first husband, James Loveland, died many years ago, leaving four daughters. They are Mrs. Richard Lindsey, Mrs. Elmer Murphy, Mrs. Chester Rilea, all of Canton, and Mrs. Ray McKinnis, of St. Charles. One brother, Milton Cruiser, and one sister, Mrs. Maggie Duncan, live in Missouri. One half-sister, Mrs. Rose Smith lives in Peoria.

The funeral service were held at the Taylor Memorial Chapel Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev L. E. Hague, pastor of the Methodist Protestant Church.

The pallbearers were Dave Evans, Earl rock, Elisha Strode, Wm. Watts, James Manion, Mahlon Millard, Burial was in the McNeil cemetery, near Lewistown. The chapel was filled with friends and the floral offerings were many and beautiful.
