J. W. BEST DIES SUDDENLY.

Joseph W. Best, living five miles southeast of town dropped dead at the breakfast table Tuesday morning. Mr. Best, although far from being strong and in good health, had been feeling real well lately and that morning was feeling in excelent (sic) spirits. While eating his breakfast he was stricken and died without a struggle. Heart failure was the cause of his death.

Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Ivy Church, conducted by Rev. Conrad. Burial will be made in the Ivy cemetery.

Mr. Best was one of Lyon County's best citizens. He was one of the poineer (sic) settlers of this vicinity and helped to make Lyon county what she is today. Mr. Best was a most upright and honest citizen, a hardworking man and one of whom no ill word was spoken, everybody was his friend. His home was his delight and he was never so happy as when he could give happiness to others. Mr. Best is the last of a large family of brothers to go. He leaves several sons and daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to mourn his loss. His wife preceded him to the other world several years ago.

The beraved (sic) children have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community in the sudden taking away of a loving father.
