MRS. JOHN LATHEN DEAD

Passed Away at Her Home Near Allen Sunday Morning.

Funeral services for Mrs. J.O. Lathan, who passed away Sunday morning at her home south of Allen, were at the Admire M.E. church at 2 o'clock P.M., Monday afternoon. The services were conducted by Rev. I.L. Neuenswander, pastor of the Allen church.

A quartet composed of Mrs. Hugh Bryan, Mrs. Taylor Burns, Glen Lyon ad Gerald Rehrig sang with Mrs. Rehrig as accompanist, the following songs. "Will There Be Any Stars in My Crown," "Does Jesus Care." and Beautiful Isle." Gerald Rehrig sang a solo, "Perfect Day."

Interment was in the Ivy cemetery. The pallbearers were: E.T. Spencer, Robert Spencer, Warren Spencer, Chester Morris, Chester Morris, Jr., and Francis Ball.

Obituary

Susan Ellen Best, daughter f Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Best, was born southeast of Admire, Kans., December 6, 1871 and departed this life September 24, 1932, at her home near Allen, Kansas at the age of 60 years, 9 months and 18 days.

She was married to J. O. Lathen October 1, 1914 and lived two years in Terril, Texas, after which they returned to Kansas and have lived since near Allen, Kans.

Mrs. Lathen was a member of the Presbyterian church at Terril, Texas, until the time of her death.

She was a patient sufferer, having been in poor health for a number of years, but her last sickness lasted only a few days.

She leaves to mourn her loss, besides her husband, two sisters, Mrs. Wm. Ball, of Miller; Mrs. Charles F. Morris, of Allen; two brothers, W.H. Best, of Weslaco, Texas, and G.A. Best, of Admire; and a nephew, Charles B. Best, of California, whom she raised.

Mrs. Lathen was preceded in death by her father, mother, two brothers and one sister.
